We were at Collinsons celebrating our one year wedding anniversary and what a treat! The food was incredible, the staff were friendly and the service very efficient. The restaurant is very bright and modern and is in a great location for bars and taxi ranks after your meal. The hygiene and social distancing measures put in place allowed us to feel totally relaxed and at ease during our visit so well done on that front. This restaurant is a bit pricey, however I feel totally worth it and great for a special occasion. This was my second time eating here and it won’t be the last!

Best food and service in Broughty Ferry if not Dundee area, we dine here twice a month sometimes lunch sometimes dinner never been disappointed with the food or the service. Ingredients obviously selected for the quality, always perfectly cooked and imaginative menu too.
Portions not huge but perfect presentation and exquisite taste in ingredients, sauces are good quality too.
Make sure you have coffee and tablet, Scottish tablet is to die for.
Popular for those in the know, booking recommended, don’t not turn up you might stop us getting a table.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Set menu was very good value and a varied choice.
Mostly every dish was gluten free and I was given gluten free warm bread and butter.
Very good value and a fantastic experience.
Have booked to come back in a few weeks!

Visited Collinsons Restaurant yesterday for a family meal for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. The food was lovely but unfortunately the attitude & service we received was certainly not what we expected. When we booked our table we were told they did not offer a children’s menu but the chef would be happy to prepare something for our granddaughters aged 5 & 8 (who behaved impeccably). But one of the waiting staff in particular made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. When the table was booked we informed the restaurant it was for our Golden Wedding celebration & our daughter put a celebration balloon on our table. Not one member of staff acknowledged it was a special occasion for us. The whole experience felt like we were inconveniencing them & certainly none of us will be rushing back. I think the waiting staff need some additional training in customer service if this restaurant is to survive the Covid-19 era. They face stiff competition from restaurants offering delicious food & more efficient & welcoming waiting staff.

My wife and I visited here on a Thursday for lunch. The atmosphere was very nice and the staff, as always, very attentive.
The menu choice was good and the food was extremely well presented and tasty.
To start with, I chose Chicken liver parfait with toasted brioche and my wife had Smoked haddock, leek and potato chowder with crispy pancetta, all very tasty
Main choice for me was Pan-fried fillet of sea bream and my wife chose breast of chicken with haggis and again, the food was delicious.
We decided to have dessert and I chose the cheese selection with Arran oat cakes, crackers, grapes & quince jelly (2.50 extra), whilst my wife had white chocolate cheesecake with mango and passion fruit salsa.
We had a lovely time at Collinson's, never under any pressure and enjoyed a very relaxing and well paced lunch. If you're looking for somewhere that serves great food at reasonable prices and provides good service, then I recommend a visit here, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Golden wedding celebration, champagne and wine selected week before, canapés requested as a special with champagne, flowers for ladies ordered to be delivered.
Canapés were lovely, everybody pleased with every course, beautifully presented and cooked perfectly as I expected.
Christine and her team were excellent right side of friendly without being intrusive. Flowers presented by Christine to my wife for females in company and to me to give to my wife as requested.
Perfect celebration of fifty years of marriage.

This restaurant is of a high standard both for the ambiance and the excellent food. It has to be the best place to eat in Dundee. It has a very reasonably priced Menu for the the very high standard that they provide. Staff were pleasant and professional. We very much enjoyed our meal and will hopefully return soon.
Just recently, following our meal at Collinsons we had lunch at the Dormy at Gleneagles and the standard of food at Collinsons far outstripped the quality we received at The Dormy.

What a very pleasant afternoon spent with friends, having a late lunch at Collinsons. Excellent value for the two course menu. With adequate choices available, the food we ordered was well presented and tasted beautiful. Our waitress was attentive and efficient making our afternoon all the more pleasant. Thank-you!

This was our first visit to Collinsons and we’ll definitely be back for more!
We had a fabulous dinner and were looked after by their very friendly and attentive staff.
We also thought the dinner menu was very good value for money.
Keep up the great work and can’t wait to return.

We only found out about this place after the original restaurant we tried to book was fully booked. Honestly, I’m so glad that they were full because the food was amazing! Quite a small menu, but al the options sounded super tasty and were unlike any you would get at your average restaurant.
Staff were super attentive without being invasive, were very kind, and also had a laugh with us when we were paying and getting ready to leave.
Restaurant was small inside, however had a really nice atmosphere and a good playlist (george Michael, etc). Fudge was offered with coffee, however none of us were having (we had baileys and drambuie) but the staff were still happy to provide some for us with no extra charge.
Overall, would recommend to anyone in dundee/broughty area looking for a really nice meal with a good glass of wine.

We took over this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion recently. Stephen, the owner and chef, met with us, months in advance, to discuss our preferences and our menu. He kept in touch with us regularly and was very helpful and gave welcomed advice. When the day arrived, everything was set in place when we arrived and throughout the evening, the waiting staff, led by Christine, were excellent. When finished a course, plates were cleared away without intrusion and drinks swiftly replenished. Stephen and his kitchen staff worked extremely hard to ensure that every course was laid down timeously and perfectly presented. The food was delicious and all of our guests remarked on it being one of the best restaurants they had ever been to... and shall return!

We dined here initially for special occasions birthdays etc but the food and service is so good we dine here once a month for lunch and for special occasions we dine in the evening. We consider this restaurant the best in the area for food and service.
Consistently well cooked tasty food, beautifully presented and service is first class. Menu has a good choice between meat fish etc. cannot comment on vegetarian as we tend not to eat that. Look at specials board for occasional dishes, I think Steven uses this as a trial for new dishes. You will always get something to your liking.
Wine list good choice but we stick to house wines as they are good value and a bottle between the two of us is too much. Have to stay awake for the lovely sweets. Bread and butter pudding never tasted this good at school.
You must try the Scottish tablet with the coffee, not fudge, Scottish tablet, delicious.
Recommend reserving table especially on Fridays and Saturdays, it does get busy and we regularly see all tables full.
Ignore the local rag’s reviews they seem to omit Collinsons for their recommendations for some reason

Fantastic, if you want the best food and service in Tayside then look no further.
Steve and his team continue to offer both, in immaculate surroundings, been a fan of chef for thirty years, and I can truly say he has never disappointed.
The prices are amazingly good value, but don’t tell him 😊

Very pleasant ambience. Menu was 2 or 3 course price. Not a massive choice but varied. Family had beef and duck for mains and a dark chocolate fondant and a cherry frangipane for dessert. All clean plates! I had two starters, baked beets with goats cheese, then scallops with a pea and mint risotto. Both were delicious. And restaurant only charged us for two three course meals. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

This was the second restaurant that we visited on a recent trip to Dundee. British and European menu with a good choice of different dishes. My wife had the Cod and I had a Roe Deer loin which I had not tasted before and was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection.
Good atmosphere and great service. Not the cheapest restaurant but worth the money for the quality.
Would highly recommend.
