We received a gift voucher for a three course meal at stac polly from a friend. I had a tartlet and caramelised onion starter, which was very full of flavour. Main meal of beef and black pudding which was cooked to perfection. Gin and tonic...More

Tried this well established but recently under new management (Oct 2017) restaurant for the first time for Dinner since 2004. Had the 3 course Dinner plus coffee. The menu was huge and it was difficult to choose due to the collection of mouth watering dishes....More

Visited after being gifted a Groupon voucher and was very impressed with the menu. Flavour combinations made the dishes very enjoyable. The pheasant main was really good and the sauce we lovely. Restaurant was a bit on the chilly side. Would recommend.

Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant! We dropped by without a booking but I recommend booking - it was quite busy still. The restaurant prides itself in Scottish cuisine and has a fantastic selection of wines. The staff were wonderfully friendly and entertaining and the whole...More

It is a couple of years since the last visit. And so it was great to be welcomed so warmly by the staff. Much Christmas activity, of course, but we got a nice table for two and the Christmas diners (clearly office parties!) were in...More

Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to
malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton
have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything

even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and
art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The
