After a morning sight seeing, our group of 4 wanted some lunch. The lunch time Tapas menu looked good, so we went in . Only to be asked did we have a reservation!! The place was packed with happy cheerful diners ,but they found us a table. We opted for the set price, 3 tapas dishes for £12.95. So had... More

Had a nice meal in lovely surroundings. My only complaint would be that apart from one bubbly female staff member the rest appeared to require a personality.

We've been to Cafe Andaluz a few times now and we're always keen to come back. It's a touch of Spain in Edinburgh with fantastic tapas dishes all reasonably priced. The white Rioja is perfect with any dish. Feels like the Spanish sunshine is in here. Can't wait to come back!

I decided to try this restaurant since it had been highly recommended by some my local colleagues. We had a few tapas as starters and the paella valenciana. The food was super. They say there's 30minutes waiting time for the paella, but it's been ready in 15. We tried the Merlot and it was very good. The restaurant is really... More

Hadn't booked but were seated upstairs in a very busy restaurant. Had a mix of veggie, fish and meat dishes. All very good. A bottle of house red, which wasn't bad complemented the food. Very noisy here but that's part of the experience. Enjoyed lots!

Huge restaurant which is probably reflected in the overall quality of the food. Overpriced, given the quality although the service was OK.

My wife and I booked a table on Saturday 15th April only free time was 9pm. Arrived and were shown to a table upstairs where two large "hen parties" were having dinner. The noise level upstairs was incredible and my wife and I could not have a conversation between us. When waitress arrived we had to shout our order to... More

Description
Our newest and largest venture, Cafe Andaluz hopes to bring a little bit of Spain to George Street, Edinburgh. Sharing tapas is a great way to eat socially and we make our dishes fresh and as varied as possible. All our dishes are prepared using the best raw materials and are all prepared on the premises. Our wines are sourced solely from Spain and our Sangria is made from traditional recipes passed down through generations. Our staff will always be available to offer advice on menu choices and recommend some of their favourites.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
