Despite being listed in the 2014 Michelin UK restaurant guide! Cafe Fish is now Bistro Moderne by Mark Greenaway (4* review done on that page).

Very tasty fish dishes. We all had standard fish and chips and were not disappointed by the delicious flavour. Not a cheap price tag but a nice special meal and a lovely setting

Had a very enjoyable meal here with a friend who was celebrating their birthday. The fish was fresh and beautifully presented. I would personally recommend getting a side dish with the main course, if you have a good appetite. Prices were typical Edinburgh prices for...More

We visited this restaurant for the first time last Friday and had a very enjoyable meal. We found the staff knowledgeable. My husband asked for advice regarding which wine would best suit the food we had chosen. What we enjoyed was that although this was...More

Nice food. Good service. Good atmosphere. Perhaps a little overpriced for what it is. Will likely head back at some point though.

Very dissapointed with Cafe Fish. We had been the previous year (Aug 2012) and had a wonderful evening. Aug 2013 was pretty much a disaster. The waitress at our table didn't have a clue what the specials were. I assume she was new. Anyways, we...More

In the four years that we have been open we have never had specials on our menu - the menu changes every day and what is on the menu is what we offer - so the waitress "not knowing what the specials were"just didn't happen....More

We just had the main course involving two dishes, so this can't be seen as a comprehensive review, but the two dishes in question were absolutely first class. The food was cooked to perfection, the appearance was excellent, the taste was exceptionally good and the...More

For a lovely meal in a modern setting with great service, Café Fish was excellent. The menu had a nice variety of offerings and everything was fresh, organic, sustainable, and delicious. Highly recommended.

Birthday dinner here on Saturday evening was really nice. Staff were great, relaxed but attentive, food was very good and interesting if a little expensive for what it was. Maybe we're just not used to Edinburgh prices! Decor was simple and although not a square...More

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement

Scottish Seafood Restaurant of the Year 2012 After two really successful years in Edinburgh's old port district, Leith, we've moved to larger premises up town, on the Newtown Stockbridge border. Still doing the same - 100% fresh, seasonal fish and shellfish with a daily changing menu. Great selective wine list, a fab range of Bollinger champagnes, and a great space to dine in. 70 covers, open seven days April to October and Tuesday to Saturday November through until March, looking forward to seeing you!
