Stopped in here for supper around 5:30 or so. My wife had the chicken highlander and I had the steak and ale pie. Service was prompt and didn't have to wait long for the food. The food was hot and the main items including the...More

This is right on the Royal Mile, great location and friendly service. We only had drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere. We had nice weather, so we sat outside and enjoyed people watching.

Busy pub but not too noisy for a late lunch. The Cullen Sink was tasty and the Penne Arrabbia was good as well. Close to the Raddison Blu where we were staying and located on a cool street with lots of shopping and dining options.

Small restaurant at the corner. Very congested. Good items on the menu. We ordered Cullen Skink Starter and Fish and Chips. Cullen Skink Starter is Potato soup with fish. Both were excellent. Fish and Chips was greasy as you would expect.

This pub was right below the flat we rented on historic High Street in Edinburgh. Menu is diverse with many choices, although service was a bit slow. Easy access right on the corner.

Out for a walk on the Royal Mile and popped in here for lunch. Cullen skink was excellent although I thought the place was a little bit drab

We loved this pub - yes it caters to tourists, but that's what we are! Great fish and chips! Excellent selection of Scottish ales and whiskeys. We loved it.

We discovered this pub a few years ago as we are regular visitors to Edinburgh, particularly the festival. It's a traditional pub and there is live music some nights although we missed that this week - this is great as it's a few blokes sitting...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
