The restaurant has a great atmosphere. Good food and wine – special mention to the fish and chips, simply delicious. Another very special mention goes to the live music – Scottish songs, perfect match to the place!

We honestly chose this place because we wanted to experience the ceilidh after dinner. We got so much more than that. We arrived early for our reservation and heard a really great duo playing music. We were then seated for dinner in a cute booth...More

We are regular visitors to the Ghillie Dhu and are always impressed, we love taking victors to our beautiful Scotland there. However last night although the service was great, the steak pie was average and it was very noisy.

Popped in on spec because we loved the look of this building. Stone steps into the entrance (and lovely stone steps down to the toilets, with disabled toilets conveniently placed on the ground floor just inside the entrance). Comfortable seats, cosy atmosphere, well stocked bar...More

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along
