Breakfast is served in your room and a selection of meals is also available via room service. There is no restaurant as such - although afternoon tea can be served in the drawing room. We did this and it was well worth it - though not as good as Gleneagles! The prices are standard for this level of hotel and... More

Absolutely stunning, most beautiful apartment !!! Shame we are only here for 1 night, but this apartment is absolutely gorgeous. The furnishings, fittings, high ceilings, chandeliers, beautiful bed, gorgeous bathroom - just everything is stunning AND to top it off, fabulous central location, walk to everything.

I had a great time with friends having High Tea at the Edinburgh Residence. This was served in a drawing room with a view overlooking Dean Village which is beautiful. The food was lovely and very good value for money - I'd recommend as a great way to spend an afternoon doing something different!

We had afternoon tea here and it was nice. The hotel is old fashioned and a little quirky. What can I say Afternoon Tea is Afternoon Tea, I've had better and I've had worse, The food selection was average the service was a little slow, Nothing special although the scones were delicious and so was the jam

My friends and I were looking for somewhere to have afternoon tea as a treat to celebrate an occasion. The Edinburgh Residence seemed like a good place to try. On arrival we were greeted warmly and taken through to our table. There were 8 of us in our group, but this was not an issue and a table had been... More

We arrived at the Edinburgh Residence for a Pimm's Afternoon Tea for two which was just delightful. The serve was excellent, the food was amazing. The tea consisted of an abundance of Egg, Salmon and Roast Beef sandwiches which were stuffed full. The thickness and taste of the beef was beautiful The scones were so fresh and the selection of... Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
