Although local to Edinburgh, we had never been to Angels before and were looking for a really nice dining experience close to the castle. All in all, I was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. Service was ok but nothing to write home about. Food...More

Our taxi driver highly recommended Angels with Bagpipes. We could not get a table so we made a reservation for the following night. I am not sure it was worth the trouble. The food was pretty good but the service was so-so. And the restaurant...More

Angels offers very good food and attentive, good humored service. All our starters and mains were excellent, with the exception of the vegetarian mains of polenta and mushrooms which lacked any sauce or other element to bring the mushrooms and the somewhat dry polenta together....More

Food was good, very good really but the value was a bit off to our thinking. Or said differently: it was expensive for the quality of the food and the ambiance

Angels with bagpipes is a real family favourite. When we had to suggest a place for lunch with visiting friends who only had one day in Edinburgh, this had to be it! There is a fixed price lunch menu, although they are fine with mixing...More

Very disappointing. Tiny portions and overpriced. I had trout with black pudding and leek to start. This consisted of three small flakes of trout, three cubes of black pudding and some shredded leek. Main was fish and chips. A very small piece of fish which...More

the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Check out the website. All on there. Recommend the haggis or parfait to start, rabbit loin or fillet for main, and apple strudel/tart for dessert.

Mixing an atmospheric Old Town setting with chic, contemporary looks, Angels with Bagpipes was designed to fit perfectly into its Royal Mile setting.
