Only went in for a few drinks before the rugby but once I saw the food and smelt the aroma coming from the kitchen I wish I had been hungry . I could see all the food being prepared and served from where I was standing and everything ,especially the burgers , looked fantastic . When back in Edinburgh I'll... More

We had some time to kill one afternoon in Edinburgh and had walked by this place a few times on our way from our hotel to the Royal Mile so we decided to stop in. The place had indoor and outdoor seating (we were there in May and there were some folks outside). In keeping with the favorite drink of... More

Went with some colleagues and tried one of their famous White Russian cocktails, followed b a Venison burger. Nice fries accompanying a good burger.

“Help, we are lost somewhere in Edinburgh!” is just what we were thinking, when we came across Lebowskis. It was getting late for lunch and most pubs that we had come across, were just serving drinks (Scottish football was on the tele). We ordered 2 seasonal beers and had a very nice lunch. Service was great (not only because we... More

There's not much more to say. Perfectly adequate interior, nothing fancy, decent selection of drinks. But OMFG they put macaroni & cheese into an already fantastically flavour & texturesome bacon cheeseburger and created one of the most satisfying hangover hunger busters I've enjoyed!

Dined here as two couples ---so we got a good cross section of the food on offer--we had 5 pm vouchers from a meal offer---The food was excellent --freshly cooked and generous servings for all--rather an unusual atmosphere---and decor too---but you just adjust --cannot fault the service or the food--its a pity that the place is tucked away off lothian... Do you ever visit these places in Edinburgh, trendy bars where the staff are too-cool-for-school and lack a warmth and friendliness? The city is FULL of these hipster places - and I quite like some of them but also hope for welcoming service. Lebowski staff: yes, it's kind of cool to be able to perfect all those cocktails, but please... More

We popped in here on a recent visit to Edinburgh, as my boyfriend is a big fan of the film. We both ordered cocktails, each a different variation of the White Russian. Both drinks were delicious and good value for money.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
