The good bits? The central location is excellent. The wine was cheap and tasted lovely, and was brought to our table (because there were no clean glasses when we were at the bar). Friendly service, then. The less good bits? Bit run down decor, sticky...More

Thanks for taking the time to review us Steve. We're currently undergoing a full refurbishment, we'll be keeping all the good bits and those less good bits will be no more! We hope you'll come in and see what we've done with the place. Kind...More

Stopped in because very local to our hotel and we were tired after travelling. Student aged staff who have student aged cleaning habits, eg tables cleared, eventually, but not wiped down. We had some light-bites and some lager. It was cheap and rather tasty, and...More

Visited here for an afternoon pint whilst waiting for a mate during the fringe. Seems like an interesting place to visit with a maze of stairwells and rooms, during the fringe it seems to hold events, pints cost approx £4.

Had a really good halloumi and chips here, food was hot tasty and decent portion for the price, its a shame they don't have a good real ale on, had to have Belhaven not my favourite. Would have been very good rating if our table...More

Popped in for drinks during the Fringe festival. Had a look at the menu and the toasted sandwich choice caught our eye. Very tasty and good value

We eat here last week. Pub was grubby and food none too good. The Carlsberg I had was not cold and the Tikka Masala we ordered was only warm - when one of the staff came to ask if our food was ok we said...More

Dirty, messy, ugly. Staff really unfriendly. We ordered 2 salads that looked massive judging from the menu and they brought us 2 plates with less than half of the listed ingredients, without even informing us of the lack of them. When we complained, they only...More

Dropped in here for a quickie, and we won't be back! The place was disgusting: dirty and dismal! How are places like this allowed to be in business? BEWARE!!!

We ate here a couple times during our recent visit to the city. They have great daily specials and our food was excellent each time. They offer a great kids menu too.More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Large 3 level pub in the centre of Edinburgh. We have some of the cheapest drink selections in town so we are very popular with students and backpackers. Traditional pub food served at brilliantly low prices. We are not affiliated with the venue known as the Tron Kirk.
