Overprice and bland food. I went here for lunch with some colleagues and we were all taken aback by the prices, poor service. I'm struggling to think anything positive about the experience and surprised how busy it seemed.

Came here with friends, as expected the food is expensive I had a steak which was £21 which is fine but half the steak was just fat, the atmosphere was really good. I wouldn't come here again though just cause of the price, and they charge you a 10% tip just to let you all know!!

Well, its the Hard Rock Cafe - you just need to go! The service was great, drinks lovely and food was stodgy and filling - perfect after a day walking in Edinburgh, just book a table first!

This is our 6th visit and it always delivers. I tried the Chicken Fajitas this time round and they were faultless in taste and generosity, only grumble I had was they weren't as hot temperature wise as I would personally have liked. My sidekick took the traditional burger and again not as hot as she would have liked but overall... More

The staff and atmosphere was great. We ordered cocktails and they were huge! Food was brilliant, the burgers are huge to the point I couldn't finish mine! For a Saturday it busy but there was space.

Staff are so friendly, clean place and able to have some space to talk as tables aren't too close and staff aren't overwhelming. Music is a tad loud and the drinks are on the expensive side but a lovely place just the same. Perfect every visit.

I've been here a few times and i personally do like it, every time I've been the food has been nice but very overpriced really. Service has always been good too.

Visited the Hard Rock as a party of six last Thursday while staying in Edinburgh. Typical Hard Rock, great historical decor, good food and a great happy service. Good atmosphere and a place that always keeps you busy looking at the memorabilia. Our waiter was polite and good fun, food choices were good and all enjoyed, the sharing platter was... More

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
