Absolutely love eating here. The food is all delicious, especially the bibimbap. Excellent value for money. Staff are all so friendly. Worth queuing for if it is busy!

Fantastic food and very friendly service, this is a "Bring your Own Booze" restaurant which I had not been aware of prior to arriving which was a little disappointing but the food was so good that I soon got over that little niggle.....I will defiantly be prepared for my next visit, Excellent value!

I visited Kims for the first time tonight after being recommended by a friend. We arrived shortly after 5.30pm and the place was already fairly but - we thought this was a very good sign and we weren't wrong. We ordered Kimchi jeon to start, followed by Dolsot Bibimbap and the Aberdeen Angus Beef Bulgogi. Mr Kim greeted us and... More

A Thursday night and we had to queue out the door - a sure sign it was going to be worth it! After waiting 5 minutes we were shown to a table inside the lovely intimate space. There was such a buzz though that it didn't feel as small as it was. The host was fantastic at showing us how... More

The food here is excellent and very authentic. The staff are helpful especially for diners who haven't eaten Korean food before. However their opening hours are slightly erratic. I've ventured on a few occasions only to find a sign saying they're closed for lunch. Definitely go if you get the chance.

First tried Kims last time we were in Edinburgh and were determined to return on this visit. We had hoped to go on Sunday evening but unfortunately it is closed on Sundays. We were due to drive back to Yorkshire on Monday afternoon but delayed our departure simply so we could eat at Kims Mini Meals. It opened at 5.30pm... More

Full of flavour and spice. Perfectly small menu which delighted the tastebuds. First Korean meal and definitely not the last.

Hv been here twice as the first time i visited, too full to try Bibimbub which is my favourite dish. The restaurant is quite small and, in case you come in a group everyboday needs to be there, if not they will not allow you to get in. So i think like 6 peoples seems to be a maximun they... More

Went with my daughter who is a student. Very small but worth the wait. Restaurant is simple, but food is more complex. Authentic Korean.

We had dinner here and had never eaten Korean food before. To be honest we never will again, the place was busy and we had to queue up to get in so we thought this restaurant delivers the goods. Sadly not for us, upon entrance the first thing that hit us was an unpleasant smell, the food looked and tasted... More

This girl's review is emotional. I have never received such a review for seven years so far. This is definitely an attack on us and not a legitimate review. I ask you to investigate this. This is not fair. More

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
