Visited with friends, including a three-year-old, on a weekday afternoon. The place was very busy, but the serving staff were friendly and on top of everything. The afternoon tea was pretty good. Sandwiches were standard fare, though a little dried out, so had perhaps been prepared and waiting for a while. Mini sausage rolls were decent, but the texture was... More

Gf booked a table online (the day before) for Sunday just before noon. The place was busy so glad we did this. Went for breakfast; I had the french toast with bacon and maple syrup which was amazing. Gf had the avocado on toast as a healthier option after a weekend of excess. A table next to us had went... More

First visit on my birthday on Thursday. Very busy when we turned up should have booked. Seated quickly despite that. Lovely tart and my girlfriend had the haggis neeps and tatties stovies, both were lovely. Then came the main even a lovely Oreo cheesecake, best part of my birthday. Thank you for the great service.

Mimi's has won best Artisan/Craft baker in Scotland several times over with good reason. The cakes, tray bakes and breads are superb and more than worth the price. Ingredients are superb Scottish produce from local suppliers - lovely breakfast selection for both carnivores and vegetarians. Only problem is trying to choose what to have !

On a visit to Edinburgh we went to Mimi's twice for tea and scones. A busy attractive spot it had a bakehouse where you could watch the experts whip up a wide variety of treats. Our huge fruit scones were light as air, warm and fluffy, with superb home made raspberry jam and cream. Other dishes looked equally good. Service... More

Although the food was as good as previously on this visit we felt the staff were very disorganised. We asked for a table for two to be asked if the sofas were ok but there were two normal tables obviously free which we pointed out and we were then seated at one of these tables. The reservation system seems to... More

My 11 year old records the best hot chocolate ever, something to do with real whipped cream not the watery squirty stuff, plus a mountain of marshmallows! We went for breakfast, a short bus or taxi from Edinburgh and very well worth it. The porridge adorned with cinnamon (nice touch) and sugar was divine and my daughters sausage roll far... More
