Really pleasant atmosphere on a Saturday lunch time - good service but never felt hurried. Food was delicious. We had a mix of adults and children in our group - ten people altogether - everyone was well looked after and found something they liked on the menu. The seating area isn't huge and it was quite busy, so it's probably... More

We go to Spain often and love tapas. We have never eaten tapas like this! The olive bread was lumps of dough. Garlic prawns £8.50 for 5. Crispy haddock full of bones, garlic chicken was not good quality, lumps of chewy whatever. My husband will eat almost anything but did not like the meal at all. To sum up, not... More

I, my husband and our Mum’s dined at Malvarosa on Mother’s Day, as always the food was delicious and the bill really reasonable. We had the various different breads, Potato Brava’s, Chorizo, Chicken and a couple of sharing boards with vegetables, meatballs etc. We really love the food here. The service however wasn’t what we’ve come to expect. We didn’t... More

Tapas were ok. Prices are expensive for what you get. Service slow considering they have 5-6 tables: 20 minutes to bring a salad and some cheese is too much. The escalibada was poor at best (chef, you need to peel the peppers after you roast them). The calamari wasn't freshly cooked,( they came with a very hot lemon...reheated in microwave?).... More

We have lived in Porty for 13 years and shamefully had never managed to get ourselves along to Malvarosa. Sorted now though! We had a lovely evening, meatballs the best I've had. The menu felt a little limited initially but actually it was all very tasty, fresh and well-prepared. The services was friendly and prompt. The space is small but... More

Stopped in as my partner was craving tapas. Small, quiet restaurant with good food. We had chorizo, squid, meatballs, and potatoes and all were made quickly and tasted great. We were apologised to for the kids running around, the owner's family was visiting, but to be honest they were well behaved and didn't detract at all from the meal. We... More

After reading good reviews on trip advisor we decided to try Malvarosa for dinner. We ordered 3 tapas each. Portions were very tiny and overpriced. Everything was literally swimming in oil. 'Crispy' haddock was far from crispy & chicken bites were full of fat, not chicken breast meat. The only acceptable dish were prawns but considering their prices you really... More

A reliable local restaurant. Informal and relaxed friendly atmosphere, and tasty food. Very reasonably priced for Edinburgh. A small menu, but sufficient and dependable

We came by this restaurant on sunday evening by chance while we were in the area. We had a sharing platter between 2 which had a selection of delious traditional authentic Spanish tapas and an extra dish with a Scottish twist. The waiter was really helpful and welcoming. Hardly ever write a review but this meal was worth writing about.
