Food tasted quite good here although overcooked and drink way over priced. Few things wrong: 1. Poached egg needs to be runny - mine wasn't - disappointing - haggis and BP were lovely though 2. An open sandwich requires two pieces of bread, otherwise it's...More

A nicely appointed restaurant across from the Rose Theatre in New Town, Edinburgh. Very good Stout beer and wonderful pigeon dish. But surprising a very tasty hamburger. This is a good stop before any performance event.

Fine find on Rose Street. We stopped in early (5:00) for dinner. Sat right down and were waited on immediately. Got one of the local featured beers and ordered the seared scallops as a starter. They were wonderful!! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The English peas...More

Service was poor, felt staff to be rude and general tasks such as taking an order seemed to be a hassle to them. Although food tasted quite good, felt that the price was very high for the quantity of food served.

We happened upon this place much by accident whilst walking along Rose st. Looking for an eatery for the evening. The food was excellent and the service also as good. I would recommend this little pub/ restaurant to anyone without hesitation.

Came in from the rain to this lovely find for lunch. The crayfish and prawn Marie salad off the lunch menu coupled with white wine was lip smacking good! Sat by the window watching the word go by, lovely atmosphere and staff. Would recommend!

First of all, the service was outstanding. The manager / server chatted with my father and me throughout the meal, as we ate early and the place was nearly empty until later in the evening. My favorite thing about travel is meeting new people and...More

Our party of hard-to-please adults and teens were all happy with the food at 1780. They take fish and chips to a whole new level, with a huge local fish filet and crispy fries. The steak was delicious and served with crunchy fat onion rings....More

Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to
