Visited with a party of 10. Wonderful service and super food across the whole party. Very reasonable prices to boot!

This is nice dining experience rather than a great restaurant. On the plus side the food was good and they accommodated a late arrival for our table at short notice is a positive manner. The risotto with peas was delicious. We had chicken, sea bass...More

What a lovely surprise this was. It’s tiny, 24 covers by my count, and a bit cramped. Also has a slightly sketchy set of stairs to reach it from the street. It’s worth the effort. We enjoyed the 3 course a la carte menu. I...More

Enjoyed our visit to this small restaurant. Food was well prepared. Hake was very well done and the accompanying fennel/tomato/cumin complimented it well. Desserts ok. Sensible prices for wine. Service ok. Vegetarian dishes well done.

What a great place. The food was really a delight. Wonderful presentation and delicate flavours. The restaurant is small and in the basement and presents a cosy atmosphere. We will be returning again for sure. Thanks

Me and my fiancé went to Purslane at the weekend for a special occasion. The restaurant itself is a small room with 10 or so tables and two waiters, going for a fine dining approach. The food is nice, if nothing spectacular. Our starters were...More

What an amazing, unexpected treat! I expected this restaurant to be okay because of the reviews but you just never know when you are so far from home. So we showed up on a rainy chilly Wednesday night and were greeted by Vlad who made...More

Absolutely amazing food! Restaurant was nearly empty when we went for lunch giving us a private dining feel. Waiter very helpful but also didn't pester us too much which we liked. Only drawback that we struggled with his accent sometimes and the special lunch menu...More

Every time i go to Purslane i'm always so impressed with how delicately yet well balanced every course is. I'm yet to have something I haven't wanted to lick the plate after. The atmosphere is really snug and cosy and it really feels like a...More

One of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. Delicious food. Have tried their tasting menu twice and thoroughly enjoyed every course.

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement

No, it's in the lower ground floor of a building and has stone steps down to it, which is unfortunate if you are not so able bodied as its a great restaurant.

Anna, I was a visitor there a couple of months ago. You can call the restaurant directly. However, it is a small indoor space and I doubt they take dogs.

The restaurant offers an extensive wine list so isn't BYOB. There is a wide range of delicious wines to choose from however so you won't be disappointed.
