Went for breakfast/brunch with my partner before leaving Edinburgh. First of all the tea was delicious and we were given the prettiest tea cups. Also its the cheapest meal we had all week, only 20 pounds for the two of us! I had the croque...More

Really unimpressed with this place. It wasn't massively busy when we arrived yet the service was poor. Our drinks order was taken promptly but took ages to arrive. We ordered another drink when our mains arrived - it didn't come out until we'd finished. The...More

This place was a bit of a lifesaver. We finished touring a bit late one day and tried to find a place to eat with our teenagers. We were turned away quite a bit either because it was getting late or they wouldn't let in...More

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant in search of a full Scottish breakfast. It's a cozy little cafe with a shabby chic type vibe. The servers were friendly and the full Scottish breakfast was my favorite of the week.

Lovely intimate dining, haggis, neaps and tatties were delicious. Staff friendly and helpful. Good portion sizes.

Laid back casual restaurant with good food and great service. Highly recommend the scallops and black pudding ... and the little taste of Scotland. Also say Kia ora to the lovely Kiwi waitress if you are lucky enough to be served by her !!!

We kept returning to this delightful restaurant while visiting Edinburgh. All three dinners were delicious, fresh, and well presented. I definitely recommend this spot for a quiet, enjpyable and wonderful meal.

Second visit to the Rosehip. Again.. friendly staff and mostly very good food ... but... once again the price of drinks is ludicrously high. So.. Positives... Friendly service Excellent mains (Perthshire lamb special was really lovely and well presented) and lush puds. Negatives... Bland pate...More

Went here with my partner on Tuesday for lunch and can only had the sandwhich and Cullen skink instead of the soup which was only a supplement of £1. This was one of the best Cullen skinks we have ever had and other places just...More

New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town,
until after dark when strappy dresses come out to
play. This is the city’s central business district
with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many
of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest
clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street
helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned
Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric

Description
The Rosehip offers a real genuineness in their friendly relaxed service, with a background of vintage decor, the clinking of antique crockery and chilled out tunes. A supremely fresh high quality of rotating specials and classic main meals, there is also the generous grill menu for those who need a more hearty feed. The head chef has a flare for finding fish and meat from the local suppliers which is evident in the tasting. Of a lunch time a quick bite can be found in the soup and sandwich menu for £6.50, And the restaurant is child friendly. The bar offers the biggest selection of whiskies in the New Town, an extensive wine & spirits list and a range of Scottish bottled and draught beers. It certainly is nice to see a quality central site independent of any of the chains which are so prevalent these days. Open for a hearty breakfast from 10am-12noon during weekends, the summer and festive season.
