Well priced city centre drinks and food close to the Edinburgh playhouse and York place tram stop. Food served is fine , the bar staff were attentive but a little slow and unfamiliar with the Menu which was a little frustrating.

Party of 6 for New Year’s Eve. Slow service. Starters good. Cocktails good. Desserts good. Main courses terrible without exception. Steak ordered medium rare was cremated. Hake fish dish was off and returned immediately. Turkey dinners had burned trimmings, undercooked veg and dry bland turkey....More

Always enjoy the cocktails served in here and they usually have some great deals at the weekend. Being within a centre the atmosphere is about as nice as it can be. Food average.

Broughton & Calton
Lying where grandiose New Town townhouses give way to
malls and utilitarian housing, Broughton and Calton
have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything
but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street;
even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and
art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The
