One of my favourite places to grab lunch around the university! Although you normally have to wait a while (especially during lunch time) it's definitely worth it. Such good value for money and there's a wide range of crepes, both sweet and savoury. You know it's good when there's a huge queue of people waiting for their lunch, and so... More

Small place for a quick lunch, great prices and friendly service to the sound of great music! Crepes were delicious, fresh and healthy but with all the flavour! loved the combination of sweet potato, garlic, spinach and chicken. And they are gluten free! Everybody should try them! And they also serve feijoada if you are really hungry,

Nowhere in the city does lunch quite so perfectly. Delicious, fresh, healthy. Two beautiful rays of sunshine behind the counter serve you gorgeous food with a big Brazilian smile and love. I started going because my friend needed somewhere good and gluten-free to go and now if a friend tells me they haven't been I always make a point of... More

Recommending to everyone as I am sure everyone will find something to eat from this little lovely stand. GF ? Vegeterian ? Vegan ? Lact-intolerant ? No problem. Feel like extra avo or buttersquash with your mouth-watering wrap ? No problem. Seriously guys, try it out.

All students and employees of nearby businesses know this place. Their crepes are cheap and delicious, with well designed recipes and good ingredients. Plus, the Brazilian couple running it are very friendly to everybody. Be prepared to wait in the cold for at least 10 minutes at busy times, but they deserve it.

This stand at the top of the meadows serves sweet and savoury Pancakes of various flavours. The portion sizes are generous and both sweet and savoury pancakes are delicious. Very good value for money. One of my favourite places in Edinburgh. The staff are very friendly and always up for a chat, which creates a really nice atmosphere. They also... More

Delicious gluten free pancakes. I find myself stopping to buy one whenever I'm passing. This is an absolute godsend for coeliacs who struggle to find safe gluten free food on the move. They also have a soya mix for those who are lactofree. Definitely worth a visit!

Yummy yummy gluten-free crepes with absolutely delicious fillings. The tastiest street food you can find in Edinburgh and actually genuine street food! Worth the queue and the wait for piping hot and completely fresh food.

Excellent quality, good value & friendly street food stall in an old police box. Everything fresh & home made. Got a giant fresh crepe stuffed with spicy brisket, sweet potato, squash & salad. They do feijoada on Saturdays so we will be back.

Thank John H

Staying in Southside & Holyrood

Neighbourhood Profile
Southside & Holyrood
Many of Edinburgh’s student hangouts gather around university buildings in Southside, the sort of neighbourhood that supports a long string of second-hand shops and eateries serving ethnic food for just a few pounds. In August the student population is replaced by vast numbers of boisterous visitors here for the Fringe, Edinburgh’s world-class comedy and arts festival which headquarters itself here. Flanking Southside are two great parks. The Meadows is a vast flat and sporty space where football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet, and golf often all take place side by side. Kids in its big playgrounds add to the joyful noise. Far bigger and much wilder, Holyrood Park extends to the east and provides a real hike up Arthur’s Seat, but the district is best known as the site of Scotland’s Parliament and its premier Royal Palace—and their steady stream of sightseers.
