We stopped for a lunch and.. what a surprise! It was really good, we enjoyed every single stuff included in their meze. Definitely it was one of the best lunch\brunch I've had recently. Even our toddler enjoyed it. Read some comments about not that nice waiter, but we were lucky with our friendly one. Cheers!

We're regulars at Cafe Truva in Leith and popped into the larger Royal Mile restaurant after a visit to the Museum of Edinburgh. The food is great - from Turkish breakfast to rich fruit cake. The service is tip top. However, I have to give a special shout-out to Cafe Truva's coffee. I frequent many excellent coffee shops all over... More

The place is very well located on the Royal Mile and it's especially good when the weather in Edinburgh goes mad. The inside is so nicely decorated and cosy, it is impossible not to love. The service was good as well, staff friendly and helpful. We only had a Turkish coffee which came with some Turkish delight, reasonably priced for... More

An interesting Turkish cafe with a variety of unusual dishes. Service was polite and efficient. Food was okay but not quite up to the standard one would expect in this part of Edinburgh.

Popped in for a Turkish Apple Tea before I started a walking tour, a lovely clean café, with friendly staff. The tea arrived in a teapot and was in tea bag form, at just over £2 it was a great value, I had 3 hot glasses out of it.

I was staying in Edinburgh on a short break and wanted a simple meal in the Old Town. The Truva is a genuine family run concern, their second outlet in Edinburgh. I was surprised at the good value as it is in a very touristy location - most mains are around £7 and there are a large selection of desserts... More

I was in cafe Truva with my girlfriend. The environment was really friendly and the service was good. Ordered a strawberry gateau and scone. Taste was good but one suggestion- scones are more nice if it would serve with clouted cream but anyway butter would do the job. Be back again.

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
