Sushi was disgusting! Rice was hard and over sticky, seaweed was cheap and fishy and wait for it..... I ordered the "snow crab" with Avacado and cucumber and when it can it was a seafood stick stuck in the sushi!! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!

Bonsai is a small restaurant and if you only have a few diners with you, you’ll probably be seated by the front of the restaurant and close to other diners. The quality (and prices!) of their food more than make up for this and they...More

Visited here for the first time last week for a late dinner. Impressed with portion sizes and the tastiness. I will be coming back to try more of their dishes. Converted me to sushi, presentation colourful and neat.

Excellent table service, good fresh and reasonably priced sushi in the heart of Edinburgh. I will definitely come again and recommend this restaurant to friends.

Superb food, friendly staff and nice central location. I don't normally have a dessert, but I had to try the pannacotta with pineapple, chilli and basil salsa as it sounded unusual. It was amazing. Will definitely be back.

We had been avoiding bonsai due to horrendous service a few months ago, but thought we'd try it again today and I'm so glad we did. The waiter today was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and clearly passionate about the food. He recommended the tempura battered eel...More
