I really recommend this restaurant. Specially for lunch, has pretty abordable prices in its menu, even if the overall bill was quite expensive, the quality of the restaurant deserves it. The wine offer was not bad.

We have a habit of visiting our favourite eating places but this time we opted to take our Italian visitors somewhere new. So glad we did, they loved this small gem in the heart of the old town. A wonderful rustic feel, not noisy or...More

I tried The Grain Store with a couple of colleagues from work. The menu has a limited selection but that's usually an indication that everything is prepared by hand and taken good care of. My instinct wasn't wrong. I started with the smoked salmon which...More

This was perhaps one of the best experiences I have had for a long time. Just me and Jack for a wee celebration. It really is locally sourced seasonal ingredients put together with care and detail. If it is a Special occasion ask if the...More

When I arrived in front of this restaurant, I was very worried. Situated in a very touristic area, one needs to climb an ugly-looking staircase before entering the restaurant. It's not inviting to say the least. Thankfully, once I entered the restaurant proper, the atmosphere...More

Perfect place to have your meal. We went after visiting the Castle and we definitely would go again. The staff were amazing, explained everything to us, very attentive, really funny and even interested to learn a few words in spanish (he already knew some though)....More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
