Excellent new menu at the Shandon Belles last night, the warm apple and black pudding starter was delicious,as was the spanish stew and homemade soda bread. Lovely refreshing mocktail. The staff were courteous; efficient; knowledgeable about the menu; and very welcoming. They play a big part in the lovely atmosphere!

Shandon Belles has a comfortable and cosy atmosphere, with a traditional feel. The set menu was sufficient - I liked the concept that the chef would rather limit the menu and take the time to prepare it well, instead of spreading themselves too thinly and presenting a variety of mediocre selections. I enjoyed a well prepared and hearty meal in... More

This was once one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow. There was nothing wrong with the service or food but left the restaurant thinking I would have been better eating at home. At one time I would leave wondering when I could return. Menu has always been small but still gave a varied selection. Now the menu is rather dull.... More

Everything else is great: friendly staff, nice decor, cosy atmosphere. But the choice on the set menu was simply not interesting. It £15 for 3 courses is good value but I'd rather pay £20 or £25 and get something a bit more special. I had deep fried mozzarella followed by steak pie - two dishes I could have got in... More

Been here several times and very good. On recent visit very disappointing. Limited menu. Standard of food no better than average/poor pub - fish and mushy peas, dry steak pie and over salted stir fry. Will not go back.

Have been to the restaurant about 6 times over the years, the menu has changed significantly since our last visit! Why would you go out for a meal to what is supposedly one of the better restaurants in Glasgow just to get mince and tatties, or fish and mushy peas. Staff and food all remain good, and is good value... More

Went to The Shandon Belles on 5pm deal with friends. We were the only table occupied and the restaurant was very cold. I have been here before and to the restaurant upstairs but the food was not good. My starter was ok but the main course was Steak pie it was dry, not much meat and it tasted sweet. The... More

I took friends who were visiting here and they were surprised by the quality for the cost. I always find the staff friendly and attentive without being overbearing. There is a limited menu, as it is set, but there is usually something for everyone, even if they do specialise in seafood. Always a lovely atmosphere and one of my favourite... More

Booked this on a 5pm deal before the Hydro, great staff and food and amazing price, will definitely be back. Also has parking and walkable from town (over new bridge) or Finnieston.

Only came across this place in the off chance they had a table on an early Saturday evening. Much to our delight they had a lot of bookings however could fit us in. The decor was lovely. Took me back to the old days of bistros French style service. Menu was limited but that's a good thing. You know the... More
