I used to be a regular at The Italian Caffe but hadn't visited for good while. The management and staff have changed. The food was not quite as good but, to be fair, not far behind. The service and the ambience were the problem for...More

Was passing with friends on Sunday (bank holiday) asked if we could have a table outside. No problem to the staff. They brought out a table and six chairs ( then we cheekily asked for another table). Food and service excellent. Would highly recommend.

We visited here for bank holiday dinner. I would note that I have high standards for Italian restaurants as we have Mediterranean family. The food in here though was particularly disappointing. I ordered caprese salad and I think you’d get better quality mozzarella from Tesco....More

This has been one of our favourite places to eat for years now, however on the last couple of visits we have been less and less impressed. The last visit was very average and seemed expensive as a result. None of the dishes really stood...More

Visited on a Tuesday evening and to be fair, I was a bit concerned as the restaurant was very quiet, with only 3/4 tables occupied. My concerns were unfounded. Service was friendly, the food was fantastic, and the bill was very reasonable; £63 for three...More

My daughter bought us a voucher for eight small plates and a bottle of wine for four. Unfortunately our guests were unable to manage so we had booked our table for 1.45pm yesterday. We arrived to be told that as the voucher was for four...More

Glasgow's first enoteca, The Italian Caffe is situated right in the very centre of Merchant City, offering fine dining and fine wines in a sleek and contemporary atmosphere. Intended to be a bit of a home from home, The Italian Caffe may be modern and upmarket but it's nonetheless cosy and welcoming, a place to relax and unwind after a hard day in the office. Take your pick from comfortable deep green banquettes, window side seating or a perch at the bar and settle in for an evening of chilled indulgence courtesy of your choice from The Italian Caffe's fifty-odd excellent and carefully chosen wines, both Italian and international. And though those fantastic wines form the backbone of the enoteca approach don't think for a moment that food has been neglected.
