The views are fantastic but the food quite expensive which is only to be expected when you are ^on top of the world^ However for years we have stopped on the car park at the Base station to enjoy the view and have a bowl of soup or coffee without going up to the top. On visiting this year we... More

We stopped here for lunch. Family of 5. Perfect food and drinks. Yes it is expensive but it is at the top of a mountain!. You will not find a mcdonalds up here.. Lovely staff. Thank you.

Fantastic views but the prices in the restaurant are crazy for just plain and simple food comparable to fantastic places in Aviemore and outlining areas for a third of the price and far better quality. Go for the views, but then find a dining/coffee venue elsewhere when you are done! Obvious many people felt the same, empty restaurant, busy viewing... More

More of a cafe than restaurant but with nasty, greedy central London prices. Everything else excellent though, viewing terrace, small exhibitions & train ride to top excellent.

We visited here one Sunday afternoon along with many others. As we climbed the stairs to the restaurant, we wondered if there would be any space but when we arrived the restaurant was half empty, so we were able to get a table easily. We were with a friend and we each had a jacket potato with different fillings. We... More

Ok for quick bite, but really nothing special. Average quality, bit expensive, captive audience. Enjoy the view but don't expect anything other than basic food and cleanliness.

The service in the ptarmigan yesterday which is never good, surpassed itself and can only described as appalling. Regulars understand there are logistical problems which lead to unnecessary queueing but that's no excuse for such dreadful customer service which began at the food station when a member of staff asked me for my order and then proceeded to walk away... We had a memorable cheese and bacon scone here, so far so good. However the day was not enhanced when my husband slipped on the hard packed snow on the "Viewing Terrace". The funicular and mountain are a wonderful experience. Most of the people are there for the skiing, and are fairly fit. However, many of the visitors were disabled... More

Great view and clean. Couple of hot choices and soup. Should have sandwiches or filled rolls available, I had a Jacket potato that wasn't as well cooked inside as it could be, served with "tons" of chopped red, yellow, green, orange pepper, thank goodness I like peppers! My cake was actually very nice but no idea what it was supposed... More
