Been here a few times in the past. Today I felt a bit let down by the whole experience. It was busy yet the owner/supervisor was standing in the entrance talking to two ladies about the design of the estate leaflets making it very difficult for anyone to get in and out! The whole place felt a bit cramped and... More

We agree it should have been better - thank you for letting us know about your disappointing visit on Easter Monday. We can understand why you felt let down and will try to do much better. I was not working but introduced to a visitor just as we were all on our way out of the Centre; the front hall... More

We were looking forward to returning to the Druie to eat as it's been great in the past. We tried to book a table as we know with its great reputation that it's always busy. They don't take bookings as it obviously doesn't work for them. We happily sat outside under one of the two canopies during the showers. Prompt... More

We stopped there for lunch and it was exactly what we needed. It was cold, wet and windy outside and the food we ordered was warming and simply delicious. We really liked that they use local produce as much as possible. We ordered sausages and mash and a burger and it was perfect. The service is also great. It is... More

We made a pit stop at The Druie on our way through Aviemore for a morning coffee. The tearoom is attached to a deli and gift show which has lots of lovely cards and the deli has a huge range of delicious foods and alcohol. We were sat quickly in the tea room, which has high ceilings but quite small... More

We have eaten here before and it didn't disappoint on a return visit. I had a wonderful vegetable risotto cooked perfectly. My husband had the soup and a sandwich combo and was pleased by the full filling in his sandwiches. It has a very small area inside so go early for lunch! There is a wonderful shop attached with an... More

This is my first time visiting and thought what a lovely place with the mix of cafe, gift shop and farm shop. Cafe is beautifully presented, we were met at the door to be seated and from then on were quite rushed through our meal. We were given less that a minute from looking at our menus to being asked... Thank you for telling us about your visit. We're very sorry that you felt rushed and that the service wasn't friendly - we agree, smiles cost nothing and make such a difference. Every customer should have an outstanding experience - there should should never be 'off days' even when things are not going right. The Druie is a small space;... More

This was our only poor meal in the Aviemore area. The Brushetta was smothered with 34 olives(yes, we counted them!) and rocket and very little else. The bread was dry. The burger came in a nice bun, but the burger itself was very thin and tiny and came with no other filling. Four bites and it was gone.6 oz? Hardly!... More

We stopped at The Druie while on a driving tour. Our guide called ahead for lunch and they were ready for us when we walked through the door. Our party sat at a long table in the back which allowed us to take in everything the café had to offer. They have a nice menu, including soups, salads & sandwiches.... More

We stopped here for hot chocolate and cake on the way back to Aviemore after being out on the bikes all day. It was most welcoming. Although very busy the staff were polite and courteous. Chocolate brownie was delicious!

Description
The Druie takes its name from the burn(river) that rushes behind the restaurant and always seems in a hurry to carry clear, sparkling mountain water from the Cairngorms to the River Spey. We are open daily 9.30am - 5.00pm for locally roasted coffee, locally sourced tasty lunches, leaf teas and delicious homemade cakes, with a focus on dishes prepared from lovingly home produced beef from our pedigree herd of Highland cattle, our velvety venison from the ancient forest of Rothiemurchus and seasonal produce from specialist producers, served in a relaxed, friendly environment. Whilst enjoying your coffee or lunch at the Druie, you can enjoy the exhibition of local artwork which changes each month, especially selected by Ellie, who manages the Gallery at Loch an Eilein and is also a member of Creative Cairngorms.
