I live this pub but know that one day it will be gone, sadly. The landlord and landlady are gems, the decor and feel a hark back to a nicer, more civilised time and their ales ace. Thanks again for being my first port of call in this lovely city and long may you continue.

We went in here on Saturday and ordered two ales. It was 6pm and the place was totally empty. Both pints were awful and we left after only tasting the "beer". Crossed the road to The Peonix which was busy and decent beer. AVOID.

Great pub, good beers and choice of real ales and fantastically friendly staff led by the lovely Janette. A great welcome awaits and there is good entertainment at weekends. If you're in Inverness, go here.

visited in the afternoon for a few drinks pub not very busy but good banter with a few locals and really friendly bar staff. Back in the evening and the place was rocking great live band prompt bar service with friendly atmosphere.

We took the train from Edinburgh to Inverness, arriving late for lunch, so the pub was mostly empty. The bar tender (? owner) greeted us from behind the bar, explained about the menu and how to place an order. We were the only customers other than a couple of men at the bar. Having never had the traditional Haggis dish,... More

This really could be such a good, traditional pub. We've persevered going here but enough's enough. Whilst the 2 ladies are always pleasant and cheery, their male counterpart's demeanour is just beyond a joke. We spend money in his pub and don't expect to be treated with something bordering on disdain every time we visit. Seems a common problem from... More

12 of us arrived on a very busy weekend for Inverness without a booking and wanted to eat. Initially the landlord was quite 'flustered' so we weren't expecting the quality of food which we received . It was all very well presented , well priced and delicious . Throughout our time in the pub we realised that the Landlord Del,... More

The landlord of this pub is rude and aggressive. So unwelcoming, we chose not to finish our drinks. When customers are walking out because of the behaviour of the landlord, you know it's bad.

My wife and I visited this pub Wednesday afternoon our first day in Inverness, like a previous reviewer there was just a regular and rude barman/landlord (watching TV), we visited due to seeing the same smiling landlord in an ale magazine, this picture must of been taken during happier times, he was arrogant, rude and did not want us in... Not the busiest place in town but you are always guaranteed to get a local beer along with a seat. Good selection of whiskies and other spirits if you need something stronger than a beer. Sometimes has live local bands too.
