I visited this restaurant on 7 may 2017 at 4PM. There was no one customer in restaurant so I asked whether it is open. They said it is open but they can't serve anything at that time. We understand that they were not interested in serving tea or coffee and at the same time their arrogant reply made us feel... More

Having got of the coach for a lunch check break and needing a break from Haggis we followed the aromas and discovered this delightful and very reasonably priced Indian restaurant!

My wife and I absolutely adore Indian food and eat at Itihaas Indian in Dalkeith, which recently won best Indian restaurant in Scotland. The Prince of India has a very long way to go before its food comes anywhere close to the quality we are used to. Although some of the staff were friendly, there is one waiter who clearly... More

My husband and I called in on the off-chance on a Saturday evening and were pleased to find that they could accommodate us. The restaurant was busy and had a friendly atmosphere, with the waiters being attentive and very polite. The food was great, and obviously freshly cooked. We had a chat with Danny, one of the waiters, towards the... More

My wife and I had an evening meal here and were pleased we chose this restaurant. Although fairly quiet, there was a reasonable atmosphere. Service was good, although the waiter could have been a bit happier. Food quality good and seemed to be fairly colouring free. Ingredients were mostly good although I suspect the chicken had been freshly thawed. I... More

We ate at the Prince of India on a Saturday night. We were taken to a table within two minutes of arriving even though they were very busy. The service was good and the food delicious. Recommended!

Visited with a group of friends and had a terrific meal as good if not better than city restaurants. The prices were excellent, the staff very friendly.

All the dishes we had were lovely, but the chicken shashlik had a fantastic tandoori flavour and the spinach bhaji was delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly , particularly Danny, and the service was good . Would highly recommend .
