I have always enjoyed eating at the New Kashmir Indian when I am in Ayr. I agree with certain recent reviewers who say that the place needs a good clean. However, I have always liked the kitsch décor and the flavourful food. The restaurant is spacious, seating is comfortable, and there is a nice view from the upper floor dining... More

My wife and I tried this Indian eaterie last year .The ambience is not impressive for a start ,very dull and smells musky also could be doing with a good refresh all over .Waiter brought us the wrong order to start with but the boss guy apologised for him as he was only learning .Food was served in plates that... We went to this restaurant last week for lunch,.it was our first, & possibly the last visit we will be making to this place. I must start by saying, the one & ONLY staff member was very friendly...he smiled & greeted us, in a nice manner,. HOWEVER, from there on in, it all went downhill. Our feet literally stuck to... Second time that I have visited this restaurant, first time 18 months ago and has gone down hill fast!! Firstly I reported last time that they serve Kingfisher beer on draught- not any more- now Cobra with no gas!! My pint came out flat and when I complained, I was told that the gas had gone- replacement pint was only... More

We ordered 6 dishes for delivery, which was quick (delivered in a jag!!!) and they got it alright. The naan was great, the pompadoms were alright- not as crisp anymore, the currys were alright. However the jalfrezi is mild (as advertised) and got potatoes in it, while the vindaloo is a spicy version of a korma without potatoes.... Foods good... More

No nonsense service but the decor is worn and place could do with a deep clean even if it is make do and mend. One needs to have a mobility together up the stairs and then another flight up to the toilet, overall good value.

I have been before many years ago - and saw the sign for £10.99 buffet - went up stairs to be told their hot plate buffet machine had broken down - but no problem they would give me a mixed starter plus two Mains for £10.99. However, the starters to me were burnt and the chicken was not tender !... More

After reading some other reviews thought that i had went into the wrong restaurant. Food bland and i swear that it was not fresh chicken that they use but frozen bags of it. Temperature of the food was dubious and the sauce tasted from a jar. Wish i had went to The Rupee Room or Ayr India instead.
