K.C.'s is very well known. If you don't know it, drive through Douglas some evening and look to the right, follow that queue of teenage to mid 20's lined along the footpath from the bank and they will lead you to K.C.'s. I generally go there with friends, relatives when they stay with me because they've heard about it and... More

I recently came across this small premises in Douglas. I saw a queue going back the street so i though maybe it is worth it. So i queued for over an hour. Famished i though this better be worth it. It was very much so. I placed my order of a king creole, garlic mushrooms and garlic cheesy chips. I... More

We have close family in Cork and they told us this is the place to get Irish Takeaway. We wanted to experience things like a local and this fit the bill. You have to try it if you need a quick meal.

Called in at 17.10 23/02 to pick up take away for three. Apart from the Creole which was freshly made, everything else was old, cold and had that rotten left over from lunchtime taste and appearance. Chips were cold, soapy, limp and "old" and potato pies were the colour of tan leather with a similar texture. Obviously recooked. All went... More

I don't live in Cork anymore, but everytime I go back to Cork I have to go to K.C's. The best chipper food I've ever tasted!

By far the best chipper in town. Best selection by a million miles but everything is top quality. It's worth queuing for

When I first moved to Cork I was told that I had no choice but pop down and try the famous King Creole from KC's in Douglas. On approach the que outside which was 3/4 shop fronts long.... but I thought it must be good so! I braved the que and got the famous King Creole with a garlic chips... More

This place is magic. There is something about the small premises, the unique food choices, the long queues extending up to fifty people or more down the street at peak times, the atmosphere of being somewhere special. Yes, it is a chipper, so you get the usual chips with plenty of grease; and not the place to go if you... More
