Went here for lunch then drinks later in the evening. Nice pub grub and later in the evening sat close to the open fire and had some really good Guinness!! Recommend if visiting Donegal Town.

Donegal has a huge variety of different super eateries to chose from. We picked here as across from the castle. Staff are polite. It's a pub style. We ate downstairs. Cosy and warm. We had a private booth style table. Chowder was the business health and wholesome. Kiddies menu too which went down a treat. Would visit again.

We had a chowder and sandwich combo lunch here and were very impressed with the food. The chowder was delicious and probably the best I've had anywhere. The surroundings were lovely as well - authentic, full of character and spotlessly maintained. Some of the heartier meals at nearby tables looked very appetising so a future visit is assured. The menu... More

I demand that my family and I come here every time I'm home, and it never fails to please all.Just love the charm of the place, summer or winter...sitting outside on the street in summer and watch the summer buzz of the cutest town in Donegal or sitting by the blazing fireplace in the winter watching customers smile as they... It was ok. This place is cozy and food is ok. Safe choice for lunch, just not as good as reviews. Good food, nice place.

Food is tasty although the vegetarian choices a little disappointing as was the wine selection. Really enjoyed the setting.

My sister brother and I had dinner here this Christmas. It's a very cosy pub with excellent and quickly served food. The waitress was very friendly and charming. The pub was very homely as a lot off locals all knew the bar man personnel.. Even do the desserts were we thought a little pricey at €5.75 however they were Devine... More

When we finished our shopping we wanted a rest and something light to eat. The Olde Castle Bar is a loverly quaint traditional pub on the edge of the Diamond at the heart of Donegal Town. We were delighted to get a table given the season and while there were a lot of tables set they were not extremely busy.... More
