Found this little restaurant in Temple Bar last night. Styling itself as a Traditional Irish Restaurant, I found the atmosphere pleasant and the staff really friendly. I had the Wicklow Lamb and my sister had Goats Cheese salad. Both meals were well presented and really tasty. The Wicklow Lamb came along with seasonal vegetables. The meal was so tasty I... More

Myself and some friends wandered in here on a Saturday night for some food. I was quite thrown by the fact that I couldn't find it on Tripadvisor, so I asked our wonderful, friendly and attentive waitress. She said they had recently taken it over and it used to be called The Palm Tree. We had the window seat looking... More

We went in here at first because it was empty - unlike the crowded places around it. That can be a worrying sign, but the hosts were great. Food was well cooked and tasted perfect. Small menu but the cook knows how to make each meal sing. Afterwards the couple that run the restaurant pulled up some chairs and chatted... More

As a group of 2 couple, we tried many Temple Bar eateries to find on where we could eat well, but also have a conversation. All we found was loud music and almost identical menus, until we came across the Palm Tree. In the background, very discrete and easy to listen to music. The menu had a some nicer choices than... More

Had the scampi and chips which was the best I have ever tasted. Lovely place and a quiet relief from the noise of outside. Other people in my group had salmon and they said it was very good.

We wanted a meal that was different than meat and potatoes. The Palm Tree provided it. The Salmon fillet was perfect and just the right amount. The mussels with pasta was perfect! The house speciality dessert of Cappucino cheese cake was a special highlight. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Located in Temple Bar, the Palm Tree is one of the smaller restaurants, which makes it very family like, especially with the very warm and friendly service. But even better than this was the food. Seafood at it's best. Thanks again for a very special dinner!

Temple bar was very busy (usual Saturday Night) and we got a table at this restaurant. Clearly a family run restaurant. Very friendly and welcoming. The food was great and fresh. Very good place to eat.

When we arrived in the late afternoon, the female cook was eating in the main room. the staggering noise she was making while doing so should have warned us on what was about to happen. We ordered the kind of food that is impossible to miss: pasta. What reached us half an hour later (even though the restaurant was almost... More

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat in the Temple Bar area and went into the Palm Tree. The place was not crowded so we were seated immediately and waitress was very nice. But the food was terrible. My husband had fish and I had pasta. Both tasted like food you would get in a cafeteria... More

Description
McGill's is a friendly family run restaurant right in the heart of Temple bar. We offer delicious home cooked traditional Irish food, in a nice homely environment. We are well known for our fillet of Irish salmon and stew! We are a great choice for those seeking a more relaxed cosy ambiance in the middle of the hectic and lively Temple Bar. Our Building dates from before 1701, when it was owned by Sir William Temple, whom Temple Bar is named after.
