Not too sure why no one tried to let me in, maybe it was a private function at 6 AM but I was passing by on way to a pre-booked tour and there were many people there but not a soul thought to help me with the door. Very strange.

At the suggestion of our nearby hotel, we had our first Irish breakfast at this cafe. The food was good and the staff was friendly and patient, which was important because we were sleep deprived. We came back later in the day for a snack.

Lovely friendly staff in the cafe, and great to be able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine with the church opposite. The only drawback was the Polish beggar who came up to ask for money at 10.30am in the morning.

We arrived in Ireland early Sunday morning. Candy Café is connected to the same building as Castle Hotel. We went there for our first Irish breakfast meal. Coffee was great too!
