Have ended up here at the end of a few Dublin nights out. If you crave spice after an evening of downing some Temple Bar pints then Shan is for you. Very friendly staff and food which far exceeds other neighbouring late night eateries. Decor is colourful and most definetly Indian while TV screens relay Bollywood videos. Menu is extensive...starters... More

The FSAI, (food standards authority of Ireland), have issued this establishment with a closure order, October 2016, under the control of foodstuffs act, 1998. Say no more.

Shut by order from 10/10/2016 for nine days. Why anyone would want to eat in a place that had to be shut down by the FSAI is beyond me. I'm sure they passed inspection but old habits die hard.

The food was decent, but I must say I had better. I ordered the butter chicken and my girlfriend had tika masala. Both dishes were to sweet, felt like they adapted the taste to suit European people and it's taken away from the otenticity. Over all good service at reasonable prices.

Amazing Indian food here, will definitely return again and again. Had the tikka masala and it was best I've had! If you're visiting Dublin make sure to visit

Atmosphere is very great, though they have tried to decor it in an Indian way. Chicken tikka I had ordered was served to me within 5 minutes and that itself was an indication that it was not fresh and was very chewy (probably because of heating it again). Glass of wine served was probably one of the cheapest they could... More

Visited after a few pints with friends around midnight on a Saturday. The food was very bland with hardly any meat on the bone. Probably the worst Indian I've tasted including ready made super market ones. Worst Tandoori mixed grill I've ever had! Poppadoms were of the cheap variety and smashed into crisps when we picked them up. Naan seems... More

Okay, it's for after pub hours curry... So what are you expecting? It's average stuff. Place full of revellers, if you've a few beers on you then you'll blend in, don't think of frequenting during regular hours.

This is great restaurant with very nice food, attentive wait staff and quiet. I had one of the nightly specials that consisted of chicken tikka, lamb korma and rice and it was delicious. If you are in the Temple Bar area and fancy something different from the usual pub fare and atmosphere then pop into Shan's for a wonderful Indian... More
