Although initially hesitant to go near Temple Bar as we wanted to enjoy the 'real' Dublin not the drunken tourist part, one of our Directors took us in here. Porterhouse had a fantastic selection of ale/beer but the real gem of this place was the live music. On the middle floor they had the most fantastic live band. It was... More

I went to Porterhouse, Temple bar several times with friends and family and always had a good time. The food is good, i have tried only the fish and chips, there were a bit to greasy though. What I loved the most about this place was the bear, even though I am not such a big fan, so that says... More

Large 3 story Victorian building, many small rooms,2 bars, amazing display of beers in cases all up the walls,to the top floor ,live music, great food, which booking is advisable especially in the evening . the pub brews some of its own beers, and has a huge copper still on show on the top floor , even though the pub says its... The largest beer menu I've ever seen in my life and I've been working in bars for the past 28 years so that's some achievement. Helpful staff and they distil their own vodka Gin and I think whiskey. Cool wall displays and clean surroundings.

Spent two reasonable days at the Porterhouse. On the first day we landed at about 7.30am and ended up at the pub by about 11.00am. We were directed there by the Vodafone staff just around the corner. The pub brews it own beers and the celebration stout is a highlight! The menu is standard pub fare with the chowder and... More

If you like craft beers then this is the place for you. The Porterhouse Red was a particular favourite with our party.

Porterhouse is the rare bar that sells its own microbrews. I tried their porter and their IPA. The porter was very very good and the IPA acceptable but not hoppy enough for we americans! Bartender was terrific and so was the 1KG of steamed mussels in a garlic cream sauce. a Kilo is a lot of mussels and it was... More

Touristy, but that's to be expected in that part of Dublin. Got the seafood pie, and it was literally two inches of mashed potatoes and a half inch of seafood, so that was disappointing, but maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Beers were decent, and the waitress did a good job.

I've been at The Porter House several times and I really suggest this place for the following reasons: Craft Beers: The Porter House Brewing Co. is producing an enormous quantity of different kinds of beers that are not being easily purchased anywhere else in town, they also have a nice and juicy list of bottled craft beers from all over... A beer-geek friend of mine (me too) recommended this place. I guess the selection has changed. They were out of the one cask ale and several others still on the board. Food was not really great - steam table stuff.
