I did not enjoy this restaurant at all. We were seated downstairs at an ill fitting table for 4. One person had to sit opposite the other 3 at the foot of the stairs to allow the staff to pass. We were told we could be moved upstairs later when a table became free but that never happened. A stag... More

First of all the food was great so no complaints there. What let this place down was the service. In comparison to other meals we had in our time in Dublin this wasn't the cheapest night. For what you pay here it would be nice for the waiters to at least crack a smile.

Popped in last night without a reservation and we got a lovely seat in the window. We ordered off the early bird menu which had plenty of choice for us. Both starters and mains were great and as usual the naan bread was amazing. We had a beautiful bottle of wine too and the waiters were lovely and very attentive.... More

Visited the restaurant for a family birthday. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the meal. Loads of great vegetarian options.

Not good not bad, not worth seeking out. Dishes were ok chicken curry in a green sauce quite nice but other dishes like sizzling lamb and chicken not very tasty and small portions...like the ridiculously small portions of chutneys and pickles accompanying the poppadoms. Certainly not worth the high prices

I visited there as some close has recommended ! But it turned out to be a complete waste of time. Food was horrible and more was waiter! He could not explain its red curry ,yellow curry -all he could explain that its Hot spicy .! Imaging relishing favorite chicken curry ( imagining that it would come in red) and turn... More

I have been to Monty's many times. It is a seriously good Nepalese restaurant with the added interest of a sublime wine list. I will admit to knowing the owners, so I am not independent, but, really, knowing the owners only reinforces my absolute conviction that this restaurant is superb.

Had reservations here last sunday & the food was excellent, and all 8 people who ate thought so to. Plenty to chose from on the menu & the service was very good. Atmosphere lacking but it was a sunday night.

Had reservations for here at 7.30pm on a Friday evening. Were greeted by a very friendly waiter who showed us to our table & offered to take our coats. A starter between the two of us & a main course each was ordered. All arrived within good time despite the place being busy. Nan breads, poppadum's & curries were all... More

Went here for our last night and really enjoyed the food. Staff were polite and helpful as we took a while to decide what we fancied drinking and eating. Even provided a extra hot home made hot sauce for my boyfriend which he loved. Little gem

Montys of Kathmandu, a multi-award winning Nepalese Restaurant in the heart of Dublin's Cultural quarter and now more recently, in the leafy suburbs of Rathgar. Montys is the first Nepalese Restaurant ever to open in Ireland specialising in the beautiful food from the Himalayan Kingdom. We make everything inhouse and do nor use any artificial additives to enhance the flavours of our food. All our chefs are natives of Nepal and it is owned by Nepalis too. We pride ourselves on giving you the customers the authentic experience, with out taking any short cuts. We source all our ingredients, where possibly locally and use the best possible available to us.
