Ok for a quick coffee and somewhere to take the kids and linger and not be told off for taking too long. It's always busy and you can look around the shop if the weather is bad.

I popped in for a morning coffee. As well as the seating inside in the cafe there's a seating area outside I recommend this on a dry day - lovely view, relaxing. Watch the world go by. Enjoyable Fairtrade coffee.
Insomnia have good deals on buying a sandwich or a cake with any size coffee, and you don't have to wait for the sandwich to be prepared, but, some people think that their coffee is slightly burnt tasting?

Usually seating available, a bit tired but the coffee is consistent. Staff are friendly and the food is usually good if you're looking for more than a coffee
When in Dun Laoghaire, I like to have a look around Meadows and Burn at the Pavillion, and the Insomnia Cafe is a good place to have a coffee or tea and take a break. Fast, friendly service.
Insomnia serves the best coffee in Dublin, visit Meadows and Byrnes Insomnia for a cofffee or hot chocolate after a brisk walk on Dun Laoghaire pier
