Our day trip stopped in Galway to catch train back to Dublin. Had dinner at Garvey's and it was quite good. Well worth the stop in and have a bite to eat.

Garvey’s is a traditional Irish pub on the corner of Eyre Square. They have a large selection of uninspiring beers to choose from, and seeking a break from the ubiquitous Guinness I settled for a pint of Smithwick’s Red as being the best option. The menu can best be described as reasonably priced “pub grub” and I chose the Garveys... More

Quaint Irish pub. Live music the night we were there -- very enjoyable. Since we share the same family surname it was a must for us.

We have been at Garvey's two times the last month. I've eaten the seafood chowder both times and i really liked it. Large portion for the value and very tasty. Service is also very nice and the variety of beers and whiskeys is huge. We'll go back for sure.

For anybody in Galway who is an American Football fan, Garvey's is a must-visit. Both televised Sunday night games are shown every week and the proprietor, is a friendly guy with a great knowledge of the game. He will go out of his way to chat football to anyone who has an interest in the game. Food on offer is... More

On our first night in Galway, we struggled to find a kid-friendly spot to have dinner; the fact that it was raining on and off did not help. We landed at Garvey's Inn and I wish we didn't. The bar area opens into a small restaurant and that's where we ate. The food was average at best and the service... More

We stopped in for a nightcap after flying over from America, driving from Dublin, checking into the Park House Hotel across the street, exploring all of Galway by foot, cleaning up, exploring Galway again for drinks and music and craic. It was now time to grab a table and sit down and have a drink and a snack. It was... More

Lovely pub. I like going her at night for the music and craic, and during the daytime for the food. Overall very good!
