This has a nice ambience but it is too expensive for what you get and I went from being a regular customer to never even considering it. They have that terribly annoying habit of bringing you your coffee immediately and then your food ten to fifteen minutes later when you've finished your coffee, so you have to order another. The food... A Galway institution. It's usually busy and sometimes you have to queue for a table. I've had lunch here a few times and it's always pretty good if a little expensive for some options. Nice selection of cakes and savoury options. Good coffee and good service.

My wife and I visited McCambridge's on a damp Monday afternoon, nice and warm, friendly staff, we had soup of the day, tea and coffee, the soup was carrot and garlic with a couple of slices of brown bread, very tasty indeed, the tea was okay, my wife didn't enjoy the coffee, it was way to strong for her. I'd... More

Dropped in on Saturday afternoon. The location is on a busy pedestrian street in the city centre. The place was busy with seats outside occupied. We decided to eat indoors in the upstairs section. Luckily we didn't have to wait for a table. People who arrived after us had to queue (on the stairway!) for a few minutes. Space is... More

On our first afternoon in Galway, we found this wonderful cafe/shop and had a delightful afternoon tea consisting of triple chocolate cake with white chocolate icing and berry curd plus traditional lemonade which in all our cases contained frozen berries. It’s a family owned store set up in 1925 and it looked like a great place to buy locally sourced... More

We just popped in to satisfy our sweet tooth and rest our legs. I had the berry compote meringue while my wife had the brownie sundae with salted caramel. They were both excellent and really hit the spot! On a side I absolutely love their shop and could leave with bags of the produce they stock.

I love browsing here. Whether it be for food or drink. Great selection. Friendly staff. They will make up a nice food/drink basket if you want.

Cambridge's always has a queue, no, don't be put off by that. It moves fast enough and once seated the food is lovely! While waiting in the queue staff routinely offer nibbles of cookies and the like. The food is fresh, lots locally sourced and well priced. Staff are friendly and helpful. Downstairs is home to a fabulous shop selling... More

I arrived with my parents. Waited 25min for a table. It was very busy and were told it would be a long wait. The food was great as always however the service was a bit miss matched. Server forgot our 2 bowls of fries they arrived after we had finished our meals. It was the end of November and it... More
