Visited the Black Cat on a cold evening in Salthill. Decor is simple with quiet jazz playing in the background. Restaurant is divided into 2 small rooms with tables mainly for 2. We chose seafood chowder for starter and a selection of tapas for mains. The chowder was delicious and the tapas were good sized dishes with sweet potato fries... More

Dined here in the beginning of January. Was complete sold on the decor straight away, very intimate, feels almost like a home than a restaurant, but very sleek and minimalist too. Had 5 Tapas between two, was plenty of food, accompanied with an amazing pinot noir, quite light and easy drinking. The quail was superb, and the meat balls were... More

Went here with family for lunch and we all decided to go for Tapas so ordered 5 Tapa between the 3 of us. Lovely presentation of the food and they brought them out as they were ready which was just perfect. The mixed crostini were fantastic, a nice range of different toppings. The scallops were really well cooked, only criticism... More

I have no complaints. The atmosphere was warm and sophisticated like I was at a posh friends dinner party with an excellent choice of tapas. The menu was very satisfying.

Myself and my wife went for lunch after a cold walk on the Salthill Prom. I had a smoked chicken and chorizo ciabatta with soup and my other half had an open crab sandwich. We could not fault either. So tasty! I had previously only had breakfast in this Resturant. Their selection of tapas looks amazing. We now live in... More

I go back to the blackcat every time for Tapas and its truly fabulous- the menu isn't too big like in some places and having had most of the tapas on there, it's faultless. I particularly love the beef cheeks, the chilli prawns and squid, the black pudding croquettes and the crostinis! It has a cosy atmosphere with lovely wine... More

Ok I admit it! I'm a terrible planner. So with my visit to Galway only two days away I finally went about the business of finding somewhere nice to eat and my luck was strong that day as I found this place! I booked a table for late I'm the evening and walked into a very welcoming and warm environment.... More

We really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere here. We went for the full meal option instead of tapas. We will be back again
