We (German couple) strolled through Galway and stopped at An Pucan because we had heard great live music from outside some hours earlier. We sat down and had a drink and were not disappointed when an Irish jammer came in at around 10pm. He had a really great voice and the songs were good. Although it was a Monday evening... More

Savage beer garden, very friendly staff, great food offering and live music 7 nights per week not bad going for a small pub in Galway City! We had a few whiskey platters and they have over 200 different whiskeys. Fish and chips and oysters which were excellent. One of the best pints of Guinness in Ireland.

We chose to visit An Pucan Bar and Restaurant after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. The live music which began at 6pm was excellent (2 guys - one playing guitar and singing the other playing bagpipes, flute and accordion!!!). The drinks were good too. We were disappointed in the food though. The burgers lacked flavor and the pasta was just... More

We walked here for dinner our first night in Ireland. I had a delicious salad topped with sausage and pork! Super tasty and HUGE! We had split the cheese platter beforehand, not knowing how huge our dinners would be. We came back the next night to watch the local rugby match----it was POURING rain. Otherwise I might've actually gone to... More

There is not many reasons why I should not recommend this place for I have been there twice, but I would not pick it up myself. I would say that it is a good place for parties, busy evenings (e.g. with sports on TV) and the staff offers a quick service. Thumb down for the Guinness which is not great...... More

Great spot for a bit of live music. They have a great burger and pint deal for €10. Burger comes out looking pretty basic wrapped in paper but is actually a very decent burger!
