The P and T is small, friendly and has some quality food going on. My smoked haddock starter with pickled cockles was simple yet refined, an exercise in calm control. My main of hake with a sort of confit chicken wing was perfectly executed and tasty but lack any wow factor. Chuck in a couple of lovely glasses of wine... More

We were in a group of four and the three of us that had the 'fresh' oysters had vomiting and diahorrea afterwards. I was beginning to think that the kitchen didn't have a cooker as the three tasters and first two courses consisted of uncooked fish in one form or another. The lamb was nice but lacked any accompanying vegetables... More

We visited The Pony & Trap for lunch on a Saturday. To borrow the cockney vernacular it definitely wasn't any old pony. It was the dogs.. The place is an absolute delight to visit, extremely friendly and filled with local workers having a lunch time drink, country walkers stopping for refreshment along with many people enjoying some fabulous cooking. The... More

Tucked down a little lane about 15 minutes from Bristol, this place is absolutely worth seeking out. I visited on Saturday night for a family celebration and enjoyed one of the best meals I've had for a long time. The interior is comfortably tasteful, setting the scene for superb cooking, an excellent wine list and friendly, professional service. Meal highlights... More

Came for my parents Wedding Anniversary meal, and all had a wonderful evening! Staff were all incredibly warm and welcoming and were extremely helpful. We didn't know what to expect as none of us had been here before but all were very impressed! Steaks cooked to perfection, lovely touch with the pre-nibbles and beautiful home made breads. This is definitely... More

First Impressions The pub is located between Bristol and Bath and this cosy country pub has great views of the Chew Valley from the restaurant or the garden. Run by the talented Josh Eggleton and his sister Holly they lead a talented team of chefs, wine experts and waiting staff, serving up food and drinks from the very best growers... More

I visited as a family group to celebrate my parents birthdays. I had not eaten here for many years and knew about the Michelin star rating and wondered if it would live up to expectations. I am pleased to say it did live up to it's reputation. I have a serious nut allergy and the staff were very attentive to... More

Ate a wonderful meal at this lovely restaurant. Went for the 7 course tasting menu (£70 pp), and was not disappointed. Home-made chips and retro cheese and chive dip, followed by wonderful home-baked focaccia / sourdough and home-made bovril (!), and three amuse-bouches - a poached oyster, spectacular steak tartare on a mini yorkshire pudding, and a slice of beetroot... Outstanding start to finish. We had the tasting menu, 7 courses, and all were great. One had veg version, which wasn't as amazing, even by vege standards. We'd all go back in a heartbeat though.

Just under 10 miles from Bristol on the outskirts of Chew Magna and lovely little gem of a gastro pub, offering great views, great food and wines, roast beef was lovely and pork belly was melt on the mouth, we were a table of 5 and all plates were empty. Absolutely lovely good honest quality food with a good varied... More
