Having ventured to Derby recently in the morning we decided to lookout for a traditional, decent, clean cafe for a English breakfast, not wanting to pay a fortune for something to eat in Derby's main shopping centre "Intu" we ventured outside into the street. No Nicky's from the outside looks just like a fish& chip shop but on closer inspection... More

Always go here when i'm working and want fish & chips. The staff are always friendly and the food is always hot & good quality. Definitely the best place in City Centre no where else comes close.

this was the first time i visited this restaurant, and it certainly wont be the last. The fish and chips together with the side-salad was cooked while you wait to perfection.the staff were very friendly and polite, and the restaurant was spotlessly clean..Apart from fish and chips there was a variety of food on the menu to choose from. Called in to Nicky's fish bar for breakfast. While waiting for breakfast to be served i overheard a couple complain about cold items on their breakfast. To be fair their item was reheated. Our breakfast was served and the only thing thas was hot was the cup of tea!. The waiter was told and he reported. It to the owners.... More

typical but nice fish restaurant with takeaways next door. Arrived at restaurant closing time but they said to come in and made us feel very welcome. Had the best haddock and chips in years.

I walked into Nicky's on the recommendation by a friend. It was a Saturday evening, and town was quiet. I wasn't dressed up and wanted something hot and simple. Nicky's appeared totally unassuming, but i was reassured by the sparkling clean tastefully dark interior. I received a warm welcome by several members of staff, the conversation was personal and not... More

A very hot day and before we started a long journey back to East Yorkshire we needed something to eat, I have to say because of the heat we probably didn't tuck into our food as much as we normally would. We had a Tuna Salad and Plaice and Chips (served with mushy peas and side salad), both were presented... More

i am a coeliac so i am always excited to find places that offer gluten free fish and chips-the gf cod and chips was really nice-the only let down was the horrible tinned mushy peas and the stale side salad-these should be removed as the fish and chips are enough by themselves and they tasted really nice.

I was charged £5.30 when I questioned this I was informed that they didn't have any fish burgers so had put a small fish £3.00 in my cob instead, so had to... More
