Just love it, cold winter or the summer. Great staff. But the plants are amazing. When you buy some they last. Good quality.

The dining room is furnished with ethnic African style furniture and decorated in African art. The food is excellent, with the jerk chicken being a favourite. The mixed platter is also superb, but beware, you need a good appetite to eat here. During the summer, you can wander around the grounds, visit the tropical house and shop. A great venue.

Brilliant atmosphere and lively entertainment. We booked here for an event a while back and this included a buffet of goat curry and other Carribean dishes. The food was amazing, the entertainment was brilliant and all for a reasonable price. Would love to go back!

I had previously visited and decided that it would be an ideal venue for our ladies group midsummer night meal. The party was 53 ladies for a three course meal and visit to the garden center and shop. We arrived at 7.10pm our meal was planned for 7.30 the meal wasn't ready till 8.pm the tables were not correctly set... More

Our daughter and family had come from Exmouth in Devon to visit us and as they had enjoyed visiting Akamba on previous occasions were determined to book a Sunday lunch there. We went a little earlier as the 2 teenagers wanted to reacquaint themselves with the friendly and very tame birds and exotic reptiles at the centre..as usual they were... More

Myself and two friends went to visit Alanna as we had heard it was good and we weren't disappointed. The impressive entrance leads you in to another world. We walked around the garden centre and visited the bird walk before going to lunch in what I can only describe as like being in Nairobi. The restaurant had retro tribal charm... More

Quite hard to find but worth it! The garden is beautiful, they have an indoor/outdoor restaurant, handmade animal/tribe sculptures (what you can buy), cocktails and brilliant cakes. The whole atmosphere is like you are in a different country.

The adverts in the local newspaper state something along the lines of "no other place like it" and having now visited, I think that is certainly a fair claim. The owner's passion and energy is visible throughout and we were certainly impressed. The food was good and the range of teas and coffees also interesting. I would have given 5... More
