Myself with a group of friends were visiting Lancaster for a few drinks on a Sunday afternoon. Myself being the youngest at 43 years old. Apparently this place doesn't allow large groups of males in. This I could understand if we were a group of rowdy teens. But not a group of 40 somethings and 50 somethings. Apparently we don't... More

We reserve the right to refuse the service of alcohol to anyone who is, or appears to be intoxicated. This is the law. We are also a very heavily food led, and family orientated environment, and because of this, we manage our clientele carefully. Regards Simon GM More

Went for a quick one on the way to Lancaster brewery. No problem at 11.30am. No-one else in on ordering but began filling up by midday. Beer was lovely and staff friendly.

Called in here for some liquid refreshment while wandering in Lancaster. Very nice place to sit outside and watch the canal barges passing. Will definitely visit again and will eat next time.

I visited the Water Witch pub on a very sunny Saturday in Lancaster. This pub is situated on Lancaster canal and has great outside seating. I ordered the chicken schnitzel burger with double cooked chips, and my friend ordered the beef burger. The food was very good but it took 40 minutes to arrive due to the business of the... More

Hi There Thanks for your review and for complementing the food. During Sunny periods, and due to our lovely waterside location we are exceptionally busy, and sometimes a wait is unavoidable, however we do try to limit waits where possible. All the team work hard to push out the food as quickly as possible without losing the standard and quality.... More

Called in after a stressful hospital appointment, mid afternoon, needing to unwind and chill out. Sat in the bar area in the window, overlooking Lancaster canal. Had a drink, then decided to order a meal. The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble, they were available but not hovering over you. Even recommended some good ales to me, which... More

Very nice lunch next to the river, service a little slow but worth it. Very clever baskets to put fried fish in so any oil drains through. Definitely enjoyable.

My daughter and I called in after a visit to the RLI - just up the road but a world away on the canal tow path. A fish platter was just the right mix for two and served really quickly on an attractive board with individual baskets and dishes. Dogs are welcome too so we shall be returning soon with... More

Came with a party for a meal and after having a drink in the surroundings of the canal side which are very nice sat down for our food. I ordered the homemade steak and ale pie which had meat that was chewy and undercooked, just inedible, so sent it back and replaced with scampi which was nice, other dishes had... More
