Arrived at 12.10, and with daughter and her friend here for lunch with my husband. Got seated right-away. Daughter ordered at the bar, and we all wanted the same - Roastbeef. she gave great serve, asking if we wanted well done or medium - 2 of each. Even though we were both on Slimming World diet , we decided that... More

I can see it being an issue for some that pub is dog friendly but as long as theyre well behaved not really an issue for me , the meal I had was ranchoburger which arrived promptly if i had a suggestion it would be to have thicker chips than the fry size but thats just personal preference, the ambience... We had friends over and were looking forward to a decent Sunday Lunch at a good pub. We had been to the Chorlton area before but never into this pub. The Horse and Jockey had pretty fair reviews on Tripadvisor and it is dog friendly so I felt fairly relaxed about taking our guests there for the first time. I... More

When I had ordered some drinks, there was an issue with my change. I paid with a 20 pound note, but the staff said I paid with a 10 pound note. So I got change from 10 and not from 20, costing me 10 pound. Will never ever go to that place again.

Ate at the Horse and Jockey today on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered at 2.30 and the food came at 3.50 so we waited for over an hour, the food came and 4 of the meals were cold, we actually saw the chefs leave the food on the side for about 20 minutes as you can see into the kitchen... More

After a long trip i just need a light lunch and drink. Found out about this because needed somewhere that allowed dogs. Pleased that dogs were allowed inside and not restricted to the outside tables with the cold weather. Very helpful staff, and the club sandwich I ordered didn't take too long. Comfortable surroundings, and my dog could get settled... More

I went with my relatives for a meal for 5 in the restaurant area today for my birthday. It was cold and drafty and no solution to overcome was offered after requests, The restaurant was served by an attentive young woman who was excellent. The bearded man waiter was less so. Food was variable and not brilliant. The mains were... More

We have drunk in here on occasions but for a pub which is serving good food there are far too many dogs, some even on seats at a busy time. We did not wish to eat amongst the animals so drank up and went home and cooked. The beer is excellant and recommended especially their own Chorlton range.

Called in here a couple of times over the Christmas period not to eat but for drinks, always busy with a great atmosphere, drinks a little over priced in my opinion, would also like to mention the fantastic Firework display over Bonfire night as well as New years eve.

Decided to try the H&J again after months of not wanting to (see my last post) we only went as the Lead Station was shut but have to say a slight improvement on last time, it still wouldn't be my first choice for food but the real ale is too damn good, homely pub with some very friendly staff, just...
