We had the pre show meal. Not bad but a little bland and uninspired. A little like the restaurant itself. Not a great deal of atmosphere. The staff however were great. Very friendly and helpful.

We had pre booked lunch here prior to seeing "Sweet Charity which was amazing to!! We picked from the Al A Carte menu and I had the Sardines as a main which were really nice and My wife had Sausage and Mash which she said was excellent and we had two amazing deserts. Would definitely do again to this amazing... More
We visited The Round prior to seeing a show at the Royal Exchange. The menu sounded attractive and the restaurant was not particularly busy. We arrived at 6.00 but were told that there was probably not going to be enough time to have two courses before the play at 7.30 unless we ordered particular dishes. Because of this we abandoned... We booked for an early dinner before the evening performance at The Royal Exchange Theatre, in whose building the restaurant is situated. We might not have done so but for the unpredictability of finding a table in Manchester restaurants on spec over the Christmas break. The menu (available on the web) was one of those where you arrive at your... More
We had planned a visit to the theatre as our team night out (Solicitors Office) and had chosen a performance to watch. We decided The Round would be the easiest but hesitated due to the poor reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised receiving fabulous food and wine and excellent service before the show and during the interval. Well worth a... More
Very disappointing. Cajun Spiced fishcakes were bland and weird texture. The roast vegetable side dish was a dish of not very well cooked bland vegetables. They are very fortunate to be part of the theatre and people come for the convenience otherwise they would have no custom. Manchester has so many fabulous options these days, many within an easy 10... More
We had looked for somewhere close to the theatre and thought this would be a great choice having heard good things in the past about it, my initial thought towards the menu was it was abit random, I certainly didn't see anything I was instantly drawn to, I also felt it was a little over priced but assumed I would... The haddock croquet starter was the best starter I can remember - I could have had 3 of them! Lovely pasta main. But the service was soooo slow. It's nice to have time to relax but this was too much - for example, my wife did not have a starter and I would have thought that considerate staff would have... More
Tried to book a table from 9am this morning. I was unable to book online as it just kept coming up that the service was offline at the moment try again later. I rang constantly throughout the morning with nobody answering and finally at lunchtime left a message on a voicemail, as it requested, asking for a table for two... More
We've eaten here before and enjoyed it very much. This time, taking a party of friends for a meal before the play, we felt that the menu had become more restricted, the food failed to deliver on taste, and the service was less attentive than previously. Could have been an off-night? We ordered starters and mains - starters came quickly,... More
