I was looking for a breakfast venue and Common Bar got our business, as other places in the near vicinity, had no clearly marked vegan options on the menu.   When will places learn, that they are losing business, by not making an effort to provide vegan options.   I asked for the vegan breakfast, without tofu and beans (due to allergies)... Good vibe and location, but ordinary service. Food is nothing special, small portions, overpriced. Went there for dinner, paid £15 for a shwarma & some ribs.

Great alternative to the traditional English breakfast. Taco Eggs and Mushrooms on toast were so tasty and so much more interesting than having the hotel standard brekkie. Coffee was also good, not an acidic coffee but a proper bold tasting one just what was needed after a gig at the arena the night before. Certainly lived up to the praise... More

Popped in here for a drink, all the donut posters made me really fancy a donut but I don't think they actually sold any? Probably best for my waistline anyway! But I had a lovely g&t and the friends I was with really enjoyed the unusual beers. Vibe was very studenty and relaxed so we headed off for somewhere for... More

A quick trip to manchester left us here for a light lunch, i had the patron peppers and chilli cheese fires. peppers were AMAZING! the beef chilli was a little dry but still quite tasty :) Great selection of drinks (peach beer was fab) and staff were SO welcoming and friendly. more than happy to help with my allergy!

Visited here as a small group for brunch on Easter Monday. It was very busy although we managed to find a table relatively quickly. Food and drinks were good and came in a reasonable time. Not the cheapest place in the northern quarter for food but we enjoyed it and would visit again. Mexican chorizo hash in particular is recommended

Three of us. total bill £43. We were taken by surprise at the sheer pleasure of being able to bask in the sun in Manchester with a drink then a meal of interesting dishes that all happened to be veggie - except for the popcorn winkles (I think) and Korean fried chicken..............so not totally veggie then! Service was NOT slow... More

Been here twice now. First time for a drink, this time for dinner. Very cool and casual with friendly staff. The menu feels very Californian to me (I'm American and lived in LA for many years before coming to U.K.). Had a tofu banh mi and Korean lettuce wraps with beef plus sweet potato fries. The cakes looked good too... More

Looking round the NQ for somewhere for lunch and after my friend spotted that all the tables had sriracha or tabasco (She loves spicy food) we decided to stop by here. Both ordered the £6 sandwich meal deal that came with fries. Food quality was good, loved the choices on the menu such as the abundance of avocado and kimchi... More

Went here for lunch after a couple of pints in the excellent Castle Hotel. There was a modest dusting of hip young 20-somethings, some with laptops and all with smartphones, all doing their mid-afternoon thing to a restrained soundtrack of Trance. The food was interesting without being particularly first-rate, the ambience was comfortable and though I doubt if I'd visit... More
