I haven't been here for a year or so & it hasn't changed. Still marvelously tiled in Victorian style. Around half the place is given over to food with the first area you meet for drinking. I only went in for a drink and, in my opinion, it is expensive (£4 for a standard beer). However, well worth popping in... More

One of the best roast beef dinners I have ever had! High quality food and lots to choose from on the menu. It is great to see the original features have been preserved inside - especially the green tiles. The beer garden that leads onto St Anne's Square is one of Manchester's hidden gems and all this is topped off... More

Popped in for a pre mate have dinner with some out of town friends (a yank and a cockney!). I wanted to show them a proper Manchester pub and they weren't disappointed. The food as always was great and there was a good selection of ales. A lovely atmosphere and friendly staff completed the setting.

On our breaks in Manchester we always like to stop here for a drink in the courtyard overlooking St Anne's Church. It is just a peaceful location in the heart of the city. The other day you could hear the organ being played in the church - absolutely lovely! The pint we had was also absolutely lovely too!

You won't need to eat for at least 48 hours before or after a meal here. The portion sizes are huge, but you won't mind that because the food is seriously good. The menu is so quintessentially British that you might not have even heard of some dishes. The establishment itself has a great atmosphere, one you would struggle to... More

Went here today for lunch with the family. Dad opted for Lamb Henry and he said it was delicious. Mum had fish pie which was piping hot and very nice. We went for steak and kidney pudding....really good. The homemade rice pudding was to die for 😋

Visited the premises with two friends on Monday evening. Good points :- Friendly, professional staff, good food and service, relaxing atmosphere. Bad points :- Premises in need of tlc. 10% discretionary service charge was added to the bill. We didn't expect this, failed to check the bill and left an additional service charge ! I believe the discretionary service charge... More
