We ate here early evening before going to the theatre and had quite a nice meal. I had the lamb Barnsley chop which was nicely presented, although not quite as pink as I'd expected. My husband had steak and kidney pie, which was good and...More

Perfect table in the sun - been here many times before over the years but for the first time had bad service and mediocre food. Waited ages for the drinks and to order then finally I selected the chicken mayo sandwich with fries and salad...More

Sitting in the Gin garden in the sun was brilliant, the pint of shipyard was very good once we got it. The service was very slow and not very professional but it was extremely busy and they kept apologising for being short staffed. We ordered...More

Just love these historic, still working places of Manchester's history. Bursting with character and a great pint as well. A must visit hostelry.

Had tasty gin drinks on the patio outside before going into dinner. The inside is a long narrow restaurant with wooden tables on each side of the room. The wine list is surprisingly large. The food was disappointing. It came very quickly which was surprising...More

Sited on a corner, this narrow bar has around half the space given over to food - partway down as you naturally proceed after entering (usually from Deansgate). It is small so there is a beer garden to the back during the day. Inside it...More
