Some staff friendly others less so. Very rushed and repeated requests for drinks forgotten. Food was average with the middle of my salmon not cooked. Beautiful building - the best thing about this restaurant.

Horrible disgusting stinky food! Nothing more than a touristic restaurant but with really expensive prices if compared with the garbage they sell as food. Not worth a dime!

You enter the place with the same solemnity you have when entering the cathedral next door, there are both temples, and this one is the temple of classic Alsatian food and wine. The place is elegant and historical, the service is classy, soft and pro, and the food is interesting. Try the Sea choucroute.

We expected a crowded place and it was full, we anticipated slow service and it was even slower. It is a very nice building and right next to the cathedral, but the food was at best disappointing.

Ambience is nice next to the cathedral. And you kinda realized that the restaurant has a long history with the photos of celebrities on the wall along the staircase. Food is average although price is not too expensive. Perhaps my expectations was built up by what I read about the place and its long history. Service is very good.

Sauerkraut with fish or meat, whatever you choose: you will be amazed and delighted. If you drink the regional Pinot Gris you'll have a perfect (Sunday) lunch. We followed the recommendation of a young German waitress, very friendly and attentive. Perfect location. Will return when in Stasbourg.

We were in Kammerzell with my Company and we were placed om the first floor in our room which was perfect. The dinner was a terrin with meat and potatoes and some salat at the top. It was boring and tasteless and not very good. The waiters were tired and mad and the service was poor. My advice is to... More

When in Strassburg, do not miss to eat at Kammerzell! First, the building, adjacent to the cathedral, is a must see. Then, the food and wine served here are excellent. I have never been disappointed here. The menu for 30 euros is a bargain; otherwise, please try the world famous choucroute/sauerkraut with fish, created here in 1970. The leek sallad... More

A tourist in Strasbourg must eat here, right near the cathedral. I have been several times eating various things and my rating is for the overall experience, not the latest one. The place is a bit impersonal, the food not the best in town, the service a bit slow (they have many tables), but I cannot point any particular negative... More

The Maison Kammerzell is a very old restaurant in the heart of old town Strassbourg. Sitting outside at the street café section lets one consider how more than 500 years of history have passed since its' founding in 1427. The tradeoff for being so old and famous is it is a bit touristic. Without surprise the main cuisine is of... More
